Raw Pumpkin Seeds: Natural Dewormer for Chickens

Healthy hens can bring a lot of good things in our life, as chickens are very delightful animals which can entertain you in many ways.

It is also pretty easy to take care of them, and they spend their days by exploring the territory they live in, because they are curious by nature. So, this means that you don’t have to spend a lot of time of your day to take care for them.

If you have chickens, you can benefit very much from a raw pumpkin and its seeds as well, because they are the best de-wormer for chickens.

Protect your chickens from parasites by giving them pumpkin seeds, since they are coated in a chemical, which is natural and it paralyzes the worms, therefore it is easy for the chicken to expel them.

Here are some natural worming plants that are paralyzing parasites, only to flush them out:

  • Cucumber
  • Chicory
  • Carrots
  • Plantain
  • Nasturtium
  • Mint
  • Hyssop
  • Garlic
  • Dill
  • Watermelon
  • Squash
  • Pumpkin

Also molasses, dandelion greens and plain yogurt are natural diuretics that are also flushing out worms.

But don’t forget that you shouldn’t give the moldy or salty foods, nor citrus foods to your chickens.

Do you know if this would work with vervet monkeys? They seem to enjoy the pieces of butternut squash I leave out for them and seem to eat the seeds as well.
